How we can contribute to nation-building?
A nation is a community of people, who share different prospects towards life as an individual and share the same identity as nationality. It’s a people who create nations but it’s a nation that gives identity.
Often, I see around how people have become self-oriented. They are more into themselves as an individual but least involve as a society. Most of them do their duty towards the nation by just casting a vote.
I can’t understand that how only casting a vote simply makes them good citizens and they think, only government is answerable to them from onwards. To be very clear I don’t have any political view about any parties, but as a citizen of India, it’s very important to me to see If I can create any change in our society.
The society we live in is the result of a limited time frame of any government and a collective reflection of individuals’ thoughts about society. If we want to create change, we have to take an initiative about it. The first thing I want to remind and want them to accept is that only we are responsible for the change in society. We have to dedicate our time and effort to nation-building.
To create a change in such a complex system of society with an array of problems, we cannot expect a change in a limited time frame. It may take a decade to create a single change working upon a single vision or it may take a little less time than we expect with shared visions towards a single goal.
Somewhere it’s a fact that major reforms and measures to change society have to be taken by the governmental end still, we have the ultimate power to create change by taking appropriate actions.
People can work upon a great vision to create a major change in our society. But here I am suggesting some small initiative by which we can help towards nation-building.

let’s see how we can contribute to the nation-building
- By adding a topic about nation-building and requisite societal change as part of our gossip so that we can be aware of this.
- By avoiding rumors that cause hindrance in the development of an individual or the society.
- We can help to educate at least one unprivileged student by creating educational support.
- If you are a government official say no to corruption, don’t support corruption.
- Educate your children and the younger ones about the culture and the struggle of the nation. The sacrifice of forefathers should be acknowledged by our upcoming generation.
- Take the whole country as your home, and treat it like home. Don’t clutter anywhere. Maintain cleanliness.
- Support government schemes that are good for social reforms.
- Pay taxes on time. Be accountable for your earning and taxes.
- Educate women and help them by providing a good working environment, so they can create change.
- Work hard for your family, society, and nation.
- Encourage youth to participate in nation-building or by joining armed forces.
- Support local markets. Small business creates big changes in society.
- By not wasting natural resources actually you are helping the nation and future generations.
- Be aware of the population and try to create awareness around you.
- Help in the eradication of discrimination i.e. caste, language, color, and social status.
The nation becomes strong when we all offer a helping hand to create change in our society daily.
“A nation’s cultures reside in the hearts and the souls of its people- Mahatma Gandhi”.
